This paper reflects on the need for researchers to adopt a reflexive approach to considering how children’s perspectives and experiences are represented. The authors explore the nature of child-researcher relationships and researchers’ positions and the impact of contexts on meaning making in research involving children. The paper presents a literature review of researchers’ accounts of reflexivity (or lack thereof).
