All children, including those identified as having disabilities, have the right to participate in matters affecting their lives. This paper contributes to the growing research discourse that recognises this right and reflects on the ethical complexities in seeking to realise this right. This paper draws on a doctoral research project to offer insight into access, recruitment, consent, anonymity, confidentiality and sensitive issues, as well as what help to mitigated these issues.
