Getting Started is designed to prompt critical reflection by researchers, members of the research team, organisations and other stakeholders as they plan and undertake research in their local contexts. The intent is to generate shared, useful, practice-based insights throughout each of the phases of the research process. Getting Started is not merely a checklist of do’s and dont’s and should not be considered in isolation from other important contextual information found elsewhere on the ERIC website. The most important overarching question in Getting Started is: How does the proposed research respect the dignity of children?
